I recently reviewed my last ~30 customer interviews or so. I wanted to gather some insights, see what I do/did wrong (and turn some of that learning into a newsletter!).

I found starting with scripts to be a mistake in my case. I’d get too stressed out about the script, what I needed to ask next, how I was going to transition the customer into the next topic on my list without breaking their flow too much, etc.

Instead now I start with an opportunity area and just chat. It’s so much more organic and natural, and I feel like I get much more authentic feedback this way.
