Last week I had shared the article Geoff Moore wrote on the founder mode.

Someone on Linkedin then shared an article on the Chasm concept. Until now, I had thought it was Geoff Moore who invented the chasm.

But no, the story goes back many years. It starts with an accident a lady had in 195 in the then new product called automobiles. The reactions were varied. And helped build the concept of the chasm.

This is an interesting essay on the Chasm theory development.
