I assume you are now all about AI and the new buzzword Agentic AI. That includes me. Have been studying and learning about this new trend.
It sounds promising about the future of work. But we have seen this before. New trends come and overpromise things. But change is always incremental. The big change really just happened with the Internet where business models were upended and peoples life changed dramatically.
Will Agentic AI do the same?
No, according to Austin Starks in this essay. His essay is provocatively titled
You are an absolute moron for believing in the hype of “AI Agents”.
He gives 4 reasons for why this hype is …well hype. AI agents will have a role and there are many use cases it could help with.
”But no reasonable company is going to replace their operations team with a suite of extremely expensive, error-prone agents in order to run critical processes for their business.”
